Boho Broderie

St. Patty’s Day is next week and instead of the bright lime green, chartreuse, or the creepy seafoam green that may be your normal go to every year, try a shade with a darker hue to turn heads with. I’m a big fan of olive and army green because they look good on just about any skin tone and they create soothing energies. The forces they exude represent harmony and compassion. Olive green in particular, symbolizes space and wisdom, feminine leadership qualities, and peace through compassion for humanity. I’m not sure if you’ll be aware of those energies while chugging down a Guinness at a local pub, but it’s good to know for your sober moments. Shots will still be free at the bar so long as you’re wearing any shade of green so you might as well pick a hue that won’t give others a headache when they look your way. Leave that task for the liquor 😉

Snow in L.A.

Unless I’m going to an all white event where the dress code is mandatory, you won’t catch me snowed out for so many obvious reasons: stains, translucent when wet, advertises panty lines and colored bras, oh and did I mention stains?

The risk is usually greater than the reward for me; howevvvvvver, I love the way white on white looks on dark-skin complexions like mine so I chose to go against my fears, master this look and pray that a smudge doesn’t ruin this moment.

Nigist

Tara and I got back on the field last week and made more magic! It’s always fun when we get together and I feel the outcome just keeps getting better and better. It’s like riding a bike, or flying a kite or learning how to cook, sometimes the process is challenging but the results get better each time. 🙂 This shoot was a little different, and in a good way because I got to shoot in one of my own pieces from my new line F.L.O.S.S. Daily.

Great morning world!

I’ve been away on vacay cruising across the Gulf of Mexico with my girls but I’m back and feeling a few pounds heavier but perfectly re-charged! In between dancing in Honduras, cave tubing in Belize and roaming the streets of Mexico, I took time to reflect on my life so far and think about where I want to go. I had to change my outlook on life, set myself free and choose peace over dismay; it feels so good!IMG_4542

Hippie Halloween

Halloween is right around the corner and one of my lovely co-hosts, Lady Red Nails, suggested that we dress up as hippies for Tuesday night’s show. It just so happened that I shot this look a month ago and it fits perfectly with our theme. I had fun with this project and was once again drawn to the beautiful detail by Bebe. Whoever took over as creative director seriously needs to be applauded! They’ve managed to keep the sexiness of the brand all while elevating its character from slutsville to swanksville. They still have a few risque items that linger but overall, bravo Bebe 🙂

Risqué

In science, the notion of whether Black or White are colors has been one of the most debated topics for years. Some argue that black is a color and white is not because if you combine all hues, they will create black while the absence of color creates white. Others will argue that the absence of color is actually black because if you shut off all of the lights, everything turns to what? Black. Well, in fashion, black and white are both colors. And whether they’re paired separately or together, they are bound to make a bold yet effortless statement just about each and every time. Add in sultry/sophisticated draping, distinctive detail, with a pop of red and you’ve got a titillating black and white look that’s the ultimate head turner!

Colors

Color is a form of non-verbal communication. A person’s mood can change by wearing or simply looking at a certain color. There are endless hues and each of them mean something different and significant to different cultures. For individuals, the meaning of a color can change on a day-to-day basis. One day red can signify anger, the next day it can represent love, and the next it can mean hunger. It all depends on one’s energy.

Blooming Under Leather

There’s so many festivals going on this summer and I, myself am attending two so I had to get another look together but this time I wanted something with a different vibe. This style is a bit edgier than my lace look but still feminine. I fancied creating a contrast between hard and soft and the first piece that inspired me was this leather jacket from Blank NYC.
