Marie is a LA native who got her fashion itch at the age of 10 when the 90’s hit show ‘Clueless’ was on the scene. She was fascinated by the outfits of Cher and Dionne and tuned in every week to see what they were wearing next. It wasn’t until high school that she decided to share her passion with her peers and create the first Fashion Club at University High School. Through overseeing her club, she gained the confidence to apply to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM); and, not only was she accepted into the Fashion Design program, she also won a $5,000 scholarship to the institution while she was still in the 11th grade. While everyone was worrying about what they were going to write for their college personal statements.K. Marie was able to focus on her senior year with ease and graduate with honors knowing she was accepted into the school of her dreams..

ttending FIDM allowed K to learn the full aspect of fashion design from the ground up. She learned a lot and enjoyed the experience; however, she realized fashion design wasn’t what she was passionate about. Like many 17 year olds, she wasn’t sure about what she wanted to do anymore. After 5 years of soul searching, she came across Fashion Public Relations and fell in love. Now she’s back at FIDM for Merchandise Marketing after completing her internship as a PR Intern/Stylist for Starling. She found a passion for radio along the way and joined Urban Hollywood as the host of her own fashion segment School of Style. The show airs every Tuesday night from 8-10pm PST on AcceleratedRadio.net and it’s definitely informative and entertaining. She’s on a journey to the top and she wants to share her experiences and creative crushes with the world through blogging…one style at a time.
